Eric F. Silverman
Founder and Managing Partner
Eric is Founder and Managing Partner of Polpis Capital. With almost four decades of experience as a leading Wall Street legal advisor with esteemed law firm Milbank LLP, Eric has assisted clients in more than $250 billion of global energy and infrastructure projects including bank and bond financings, leveraged loans/mezzanine debt, acquisitions and divestitures, tax equity partnerships, workouts/restructurings, project development and venture funding.
Eric has advised on projects relating to conventional gas fired power, wind/solar/biomass and other renewables, oil/gas development and production, refinery/petrochemicals, midstream, LNG, and transportation infrastructure investments in the US, Canada, Latin America, EU, Middle East and Asia. During his career, he has consulted extensively with senior executives and corporate boards on high stakes regulatory and litigation matters involving compliance with securities, energy regulatory and bankruptcy law matters and related corporate investigations.
Eric is a graduate of Middlebury College and received his JD degree from Georgetown University School of Law.
Shazia Khawaja
Partner
Shazia is a Partner of Polpis Capital. Prior to joining the firm, Shazia was a Managing Director at StormHarbour Securities, where she structured financing solutions for middle market companies seeking capital in private markets. She also advised global alternative asset management firms on strategic M&A and partnership opportunities.
Shazia joined StormHarbour from DA Capital, a $5 billion AUM alternative asset management firm specializing in credit and special situations. While at DA Capital she established and managed its Asia business and built the investment platform for the $300 million Asia portfolio which focused on private investments in infrastructure, energy, natural resources, telecom and real estate. Before DA Capital, Shazia was part of the senior management team at Sithe Energies, an international independent power producer. At Sithe, she structured and advised on multiple project development transactions, financings and restructurings, and asset acquisitions and divestitures including the acquisition of the $1.7 billion GPU power generation assets, the development and financing of two captive 460 MW power projects, and the restructuring of the 1000 MW Independence power project in New York.
Shazia started her career at Milbank LLP where she advised on international and domestic power and infrastructure project financing transactions. Shazia has a BA from Mount Holyoke College and a JD from Columbia University School of Law.
Melanie J. Silverman
General Counsel
Melanie is a Wall Street attorney with more than 10 years legal/banking experience at Milbank and Goldman Sachs, including capital markets, securities compliance, corporate governance, litigation and regulatory matters.
She holds a B.S. degree in Accounting/Finance from the University of Wisconsin and a J.D. from NYU Law School.
Kuljinder Chase
Senior Adviser
Chase is an experienced Wall Street executive, with more than 25 years of experience as a portfolio manager, trader and investor across multiple sectors including clean energy, commodities, credit and alternative investments. He has more than than 12 years of asset management experience as Portfolio Manager at Wittlin Capital Group and DA Capital, where he was responsible for investment and trading strategies in commodities, energy and mortgage sectors. Prior to these positions, he spent more than 10 years at Merrill Lynch, where he was responsible for managing various energy nd commodity trading businesses.
Kuljinder holds a B.SC. and PhD (Physics) from Imperial College in London and a Masters degree in Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

His experience includes more than 200 global projects with an aggregate value in excess of $250 billion, including energy, natural resources, telecommunications and others.
Steve was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Project Finance International magazine.
